Salesforce ties exec pay to DEI

Tech has long struggled with hiring and retaining diverse talent, prompting some companies to directly tie executive compensation with doing better. Salesforce is joining the club: Pay for anyone at an executive VP level or above will be determined, in part, by their ability to meet diversity and inclusion goals around hiring, retention and promotions, the company said. These include increasing Salesforce's Black, Latinos, Indigenous, and multiracial employees in the U.S., as well as women employees globally, per Business Insider


  • Despite recent progress, Latinos and Black employees make up just 5.3% and 4.8% of the U.S. workforce, respectively.
